Contractors by profession (role function):

The re-occurring trend continues, IT professionals still make the largest group of candidates in the database.  At present contractors who selected ‘IT’ as their profession make up 17.2% of the database.  This group is still followed by the Marketing/PR profession, which makes up 7.3% of the candidate database.  The Sales and Accounting professions make third and fourth place respectively, making up 6.9% and 6.7% of the database.

Contractors by Industry (business sector):

The industry with the largest number of contractors listed is the IT sector, with 16.0% of professionals selecting this option for their most recent industry experience.  This is followed by the Professional Services industry, which makes up 8.6% of the database.   This is closely followed by the Retail/Wholesale and Advertising/Media industries, which make up 7.9% and 7.3% of the database respectively.
